Rodeo
When is the rodeo?
The Western Stampede PRCA Rodeo is scheduled for July 4, 5, and 6, starting at 7:30 p.m.
How much are rodeo tickets?
Lower arena chairs are available for $18 each, while grandstand bleachers range from $8 to $14 in advance. Please note that tickets purchased on the day of the rodeo will incur a $3 surcharge. Additionally, children under the age of three can join for free if seated on a parent’s lap in the bleachers.
Where is the West Jordan Rodeo Arena?
You can find the Rodeo Arena just southwest of City Hall at 8035 South 1825 West, off Redwood Rd.
When is the box office open?
The box office will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 4, 5, and 6.
What time do doors open?
Doors open at 6 p.m., allowing early arrivals to enjoy entertainment, Western wear vendors, and to stock up on snacks and food. The rodeo kicks off promptly at 7:30 p.m. Please note that re-entry is not permitted.
What is the expected duration of the rodeo?
The rodeo typically lasts approximately two hours, with spectators starting to leave the stands between 9:45 and 10 p.m.
Where can I park?
Great news! Your Western Stampede rodeo ticket doubles as a free UTA fare! Not attending the rodeo but still want free UTA bus/TRAX fare? Simply sign up for a complimentary Western Stampede event ticket at no extra cost. We’re encouraging public transportation and carpooling to help reduce traffic and parking congestion.
Due to construction paid parking next to the Arena is not available. There is limited ADA parking next to the Arena.
Additional parking options include:
- City Hall (8000 South Redwood Rd.)
- Justice Center (8040 South Redwood Rd.)
Please note that the parking at the Jordan School District Auxiliary Offices is also under construction and will not be fully open as usual. We strongly encourage attendees to carpool, take public transportation, or use rideshare options to alleviate parking difficulties.
We advise against parking on privately owned property, as nearby businesses may tow unauthorized vehicles.
What age child needs a ticket?
Children under the age of three can sit on a parent’s lap in the grandstand bleacher seating. However, considering the tight seating arrangement and expected sell-out crowd, it’s recommended to secure tickets for all children.
Will there be food available at the rodeo?
Yes, a variety of food and drinks will be available for purchase at the rodeo.
Is alcohol available for sale at the rodeo?
Yes, alcoholic beverages will be available for sale at the event.
Can we bring outside food or drinks into the arena?
Each ticket holder is allowed to bring one sealed water bottle into the arena. However, no other outside food or drinks are permitted.
Is cash accepted at the rodeo?
While most Western Stampede purchases require a credit card, some individual vendors may accept cash.
Are stadium seats available for rent at the rodeo?
No, spectators are encouraged to bring blankets or small cushions to sit on during the event.
Are pets allowed at the rodeo?
Only service animals are permitted at the rodeo. No other animals will be admitted.
What if it rains?
The Western Stampede will take place rain or shine, ensuring an exciting experience regardless of the weather conditions.
Can we watch the July 4th fireworks from the rodeo arena?
Absolutely! You’ll have a fantastic view of the fireworks display from either the arena or the nearby parking lots.
Fireworks & Drones
When are the fireworks?
West Jordan’s traditional July 4th fireworks display will take place at approximately 10 p.m., weather permitting. The show is expected to last about 20 minutes.
When is the Drone show?
Each drone show will kick off following the rodeo around 10 PM on July 5th and 6th.
Where are the best viewing areas for the fireworks?
For the best vantage points, head to the west side of Veterans Memorial Park, located at 1825 West 8000 South, or explore the surrounding neighborhoods.
Where are the best viewing areas for the drones?
The drones will launch from the northwest section of Veterans Memorial Park, each night featuring a different display. City Hall parking is limited, so please plan on arriving early to secure a spot. This show is best viewed on the east side of the park. To ensure the best possible show please leave your drones at home and enjoy this experience on the ground.

Can I reserve a spot for viewing fireworks in the park?
Yes, spectators are allowed to reserve park space on the morning of July 4. However, the maximum space that can be reserved is 10×10, and it should be continuously monitored. The City of West Jordan holds no responsibility for personal items left unattended on site.
Can I set up canopies or umbrellas to reserve my spot?
Canopies and umbrellas are permitted in the park for reserving a spot. However, they must be taken down by 9:30 p.m. to ensure clear viewing for other spectators. No stakes are permitted in the grounds. You must use sandbags or water weights to secure your canopies.
What other activities will be taking place in the park?
In addition to the fireworks and drone shows, you can enjoy the Western Stampede Carnival, browse through vendor booths, indulge in food and beverage offerings throughout the day, play bingo, visit the butterfly house, and more!
Can I bring food or have a picnic in the park?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and have a picnic in the park.
Can I BBQ in the park?
No BBQing is allowed in the park. Instead, plan to bring a picnic with prepared food or take advantage of the various food vendors available on-site.
Are there restrooms available in the park?
Portable restrooms will be conveniently placed throughout the park for public use.
Parade
When is the parade?
The West Jordan 4th of July Grand Parade is scheduled for Thursday, July 4, at 10:30 a.m., lasting approximately one hour.
What is the parade route?
The parade route follows Redwood Rd. between 8000 South and 7000 South.
Will there be road closures during the parade?
Yes, from 10 a.m. to noon, Redwood Rd. will be closed between 8000 South and 7000 South. Additionally, 7000 South will be closed between Redwood Rd. and 2200 West.
When can I reserve a spot for viewing along the parade route?
Spectators can reserve park space along the parade route starting on the morning of July 4. It’s important to note that items left on the road prior to the parade may be removed without notice.
Carnival
When is the Western Stampede Carnival?
The carnival opens on Thursday July 4, and operates from 11am-11pm. Friday July 5th and Saturday July 6th the Carnival operates from 1pm-11pm.
Where is the Carnival?
The Carnival is conveniently located at Veterans Memorial Park, which can be accessed via Redwood Rd. at 1825 West 8000 South.
How much are Carnival tickets?
You can purchase all-day, unlimited ride wristbands for $40. Alternatively, individual tickets are available for purchase for each ride, with prices varying.
